zengo denver

I finally made it to zengo this weekend. We went there for lunch. The decor looked OK and colorful. The service was good, but not great as was the food. I felt the drink prices were way up there. They charge $5 for vietnamese coffee that you can get for less than $3 in most places. $11 for a espresso martini. The lunch entree prices were on the high side too for what you got. We got the pulled pork sandwhich for $14 and hebachi salmon salad with sushi rice for the same price. The sandwhich came with super salty and skinny fries( same ones that they serve at Tamayo). The pork was fine, but I felt it had too much sauce and cole slaw on the top was the plain, boring cabbage slaw. Now That food should of been around $10. The salmon salad was fine, but that too was salty. We had the cafe olla that was infused with cinnamon and orange pill and it was tasty. We had the sweet sampler that consist of a tasty, light creme brule, tapioca, frozen chocolate mouse and chocolate, lemon cakes and bunch of Ok cookies. For $11, I felt that was the best deal on the menu. I would go back just for the dessert and the coffee.
