my wife and I had a great meal at Zax Tavern. I do have a question for you all at the bottom.
Goat Cheese souffle - I am not an expert on souffle but this was the friggin' bomb! It was delicious and moist and the goatiness was mellowed out. Wonderful with the accompanying greens.
Warm Duck Liver Salad - Need I say more. Fantastic! with eggs, smoked bacon, and a runny poached egg... oh my delicious
My wife had the artic char which I must say was prepared simply but perfect.
I had a lamb stew with grilled polenta. It looked like crap but tasted wonderful. An interesting thing about the food there is that you don't get stuffed but you don't feel ripped off either. I have a big appetite and walked out feeling just right.
For dessert we both had house-made angel food cake with strawberry sorbet (me) and hazelnut-choc ice cream (her). That too was delicious. I never like angel food cake but loved this one.
Sooooo, my question was, has anyone had their burger?
I am a burger lover but have to sneak out of my house to have one as my wife does not like me eating beef. I was thinking about making an early dinner treat to myself one of these days but need some chowhound advice.
