new yorker loved castagna

little chef | Jun 10, 200212:53 PM

I travel to portland fairly often and had a perfect meal at castagna from beginning to end-what was really memorable was the seared scallops and the blood orange sorbet served in a champagne glass with a little bit of champagne at the bottom-from the bread served slightly warm to the wonderfully rich cappucino it was one of the best meals i have ever had.Thankyou portland!! Any suggestion for a similarly tragnsporting expereince-ive eaten at heathman higgins wildwood etc-not at genoa yet- also blue hour and the well known mexican place that i forgot the name of.Is that mushroom place south of portland worth hitting? My favorite besides castagna was higgins where i eat at the bar whenever i am in town.Any place within an hour of downtown would be fine.
