A new welcome neighborhood addition opened last Saturday. Xiomara is open and offering the same great mojitos and Cuban delicacies as her Pasadena location. Xiomara has converted an abandoned antique store into a two level jewel with a beautiful bar and two level dining area at the corner of Seward and Melrose (two blocks west down from the recently closed Patina). Open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, including early brunch on the weekends. While the service was understandibly rough around the edges on opening night, the kitchen didn't miss a beat. Favoring more rustic Cuban fare, the menu offers anything from fresh oysters to huitlacoche. We will be back soon to sample the many choices (many main courses can be ordered as appetizers, so it's easy to sample the wide range of choices on the menu.) Also a wine friendly place with no corkage on the first bottle (limit one per table).
