just a quick heads up here

i recently revisited this shanghainese place in the lion plaza just east of 880 on mission blvd. in south fremont.

their xlb are still good. a bit bigger than most, these contain a plump ball of pork, but they might have sat a bit before they were brought to our table--hence not terribly hot or juicy. came with ginger, but only white vinegar.
a full order of ten is only $4.50

what appears on the menu as 'vegetarian shanghai' something are rolls of tofu skin stuffed with minced green veggies and twisted into the shape of a donut. they are topped with black mushrooms and soybeans in a somewhat cloying brown sauce. nevertheless tasty, nice textures, satisfying... $6.75?

the shredded pork and julienned dry tofu was somewhat flat. this dish should have some more wok breath, depth of flavor, and kick. generous portion, $6.50ish.
