Wye River Outlet in Queenstown

Hubby and I have found a favorite stop on the way home from "downee ocean". It's, of all places, part of the Prime Outlets in Queenstown, just east of the bay bridge on Rte 50.

We stopped there today with the rugrats and got 2 lbs of steamed shrimp which were out of this world (they were only 26-30 count, but they were perfectly cooked and spiced). The kids got the best chicken fingers I've ever had and great french fries. They also serve crab cakes, butterflied shrimp, flounder, etc., but we've never been able to pass up the steamed shrimp.

They also...thank God...have a liquor liscense and sell a small selection of beers (HUGELY appreciated after 2 hours in close quarters with a 4 and 6 year old). There is seating inside (where hubby and little man watched the baseball game) and outside. Service is fast (if not a little surly at times), but it has definitely become a tradition with this family. We were able to get 2 lbs of shrimp, miles of fries and tenders, bottled water and two Coronas today for less than $40.

Not only was the food very, very good, it was fast, reasonable, and kid friendly. You can also load up on Wye River crab soup, crab chips, crab popcorn and all the crab spice you can carry.

Bravo, Wye River. See you in the fall!!
