Wrong Wine Vintage in a Restaurant...

Tonight I was served a 1997 California Cabernet when I ordered a 1996. Not that big a deal in this case. It wasn't a great wine in the first place.

But this seems to be happening more, particularly in places that don't take wine seriously.

Still it can't be a coincidence that the vintage-change always seems to be in the restaurant's favor.
I did note the discrepency to the waiter (at a mediocre grill house), who offered no comment.

How do you handle this situation?
