Just returned from Wrightsville Beach and once again, had a great dinner at the South Beach Grill. This small, unassuming restaurant just across the bridge on the south end of the island offers excellent seafood. Everything is fresh, including the vegetables that accompany the outstanding fish entrees. The young waitstaff is outstanding and seemed to know what they were doing. Not a huge menu, but everything is well prepared.
Also went to Bluewater, a relatively new place (open a year, I think) located on the Intracoastal Waterway. Big, flashy place with one of those menus that has so much variety that it makes you wonder.... Well, it was not the worst meal we have ever had, but not worth the money and time. The service was bad. The waiter told us that the salad dressings available were, "the house vinegarette, Ranch, and lots of others." Bless his heart--it might have been his first day, but the training seemed a bit lacking. Would definitely skip this place.
Lots of people seem to like The Middle of the Island. It's a small restaurant open all time and frequented by visiting Hollywood stars. I am not a big fan of the place. Seems a bit unclean to me. For breakfast we like Logan's Grill located in strip mall-type place on US 74.
