Most worthwhile place to throw caution to the wind?

My husband and I are coming up on our 4 year wedding anniversary. Its been a rough past year (medical concerns, death in the family, moving to NY) and I feel that we need to embrace this new city with abandon and have a fantastic night out. We don't really make enough income to dine out well very often, but just this once I want to go "whole hog." So I turn to you, fellow chowhounds, to advise me on where to go. I've been reading this board and taking mental notes, but no one place stands out yet as Most Worth It. Per Se? Babbo? Blue Hill at Stone Farm? What are your thoughts? I'd prefer a place with a divine tasting menu so that we can sample many dishes. Thanks!
