I miss the old place on the corner of 57th and 6th Ave.
It was a great place to go regardless of your level of hunger. I could sit at the counter and have great chicken soup or indulge in an over-stuffed sandwich if so inclined. Now the place is very "the new 57th St."
Very expensive, too much food, but I must say, it has the best aged pastrami I have ever tasted, and I have been to all the good Jewish deli's in NYC. They have, in my opinion, the best chicken soup in the area and they serve really great french fries with their large omelets. But I miss the old atmosphere, waiters and waitresses. Too much glamor, not relaxed enough. I wish they served half portions. Try the potato pierogis and make sure they give you caramelized onions.
Anyone else been to both?
