I did a search on this and didn't come up with anything, so my apologies if someone has already posted on this topic and I just wasn't able to locate it.
Inspired by a Harold McGee article in the Chinatown issue of Lucky Peach, I'd like to make rice wine at home for a party I'm going to on Friday. I think McGee is NYC-based, so I'm assuming the necessary wine yeast balls are available in our Chinatown. But as there's not much time between now and then, and I have a busy work schedule, it would be a huge help if I knew where to go! Can anyone help me out?
