During the West Indian Parade weekend, I visited some new spots I hadn't been to--Nio's Roti shop for doubles on the corner of Rogers and Church and Sybil's for jerk chicken on Church near Flatbush. Had excellent food at both. I always get ginger beer or champagne cola when I eat West Indian food, but I've become curious about some of the other drinks they offer--Irish Moss, soursop, sorrel. What are these and what do they taste like? I've had a smoothie from veggie castle that someone bought for me once with seamoss in it--it tasted like pumpkin pie. It was good, but what is it?
