So for a modestly priced ($12) holiday treat I picked up one of these from the patisserie at the Wegmans in Dulles VA. I usually find the dough in crostadas to be really tough, but these looked so attractive that I figured one was worth a shot.
Money well spent! The apples were perfectly cooked, not overly sweet, and the dough was outstanding; it cut like buttah (I'm afraid to ask how much buttah is in one). Some slivered almonds on top add a nice little crunch.
Wegmans patisserie is certainly one of the more extravagant departments in the store, but I havge to say, their offerings always impress.
