Weekly Menu Plans - February 2018

MidwesternerTT | Jan 26, 201809:36 AM     499

Let’s use this thread to share concise weekly dinner menus for each week in February. What’s planned from the COTM (Cookbook of the Month: MORE MEXICAN EVERYDAY: SIMPLE, SEASONAL, CELEBRATORY, by Rick Bayless), or DOTM (Dish of the Month) Biryani or Mole or Cassoulet? Will you bake from the Winter 2017-2018 BCOTM baking book CLASSIC GERMAN BAKING by Luisa Weiss?

From Super Bowl Parties or Olympics watching, to Mardi Gras, to Fat Tuesday/Shrove Tuesday/Pancake Tuesday to Valentine’s Day, Ash Wednesday and the start of Christian Lenten season, and Chinese New Year -- it’s a month of potential excess or fasting.

Planning meals shows our love of cooking, love of family and love of self - with fewer frantic what-to-eat afternoons / evenings.

We all know plans can change, so it’s fine if something you posted about drops off your list or an inspired improvisation gets added. You may choose to report actuals for the prior week to share ideas with others and as your own reality-check for next week’s plans. It's helpful if you can include your location and how many people you are feeding. Links to recipes are always appreciated, and sources help.

The January discussion is still available for reporting the last week and follow-ups.

Reminder – Keep your comments menu / food related and in the interest of faster viewing times, please use the Heart under a comment to indicate you liked it or want to echo what was said by another, rather than posting a separate “me too” comment.
