Let’s use this thread to share concise weekly dinner menus for each week in August. Will you be cooking with the Cookbook of the Month (COTM) crowd from FRESS: BOLD FLAVORS FROM A JEWISH KITCHEN by Emma Spitzer? Or will you be inspired by the selected Dish of the Month (DOTM) – Tomato Pies or Ice Cream or Granola? Will you try baking something from the quarterly (Summer) Baking COTM: SWEET, by Yotam Ottolenghi and Helen Goh?
There’s plenty of summer left. Planning a week's worth of meals frees up time to enjoy those late-summer activities, without fretting about defrosting or produce-expiration. August brings bountiful produce, which I’m always tempted to over-buy but planning helps curb that. It also brings State Fair foods, family vacations, meteor showers, and in the final week that “s” word for the younger set & teachers.
We all know plans can change, so it’s fine (practically expected) when your week gets rearranged from your posted plan. You may choose to report actuals for the prior week to share ideas with others. It's helpful if you can include your location and how many people you are feeding. Links to recipes are always appreciated, and sources help.
