Weekend in Midtown

Hello NYC Chowhounders from Philadelphia!

I just finished planning a trip to fulfil my lifelong dream of seeing Saturday Night Live. I am going to be coming to NYC for the weekend and plan on waiting all night long in the cold for my ticket, but I believe it is worth it.

Yet there is something I need help with. Although I have been to NYC innumberable times, I have never spent any time in the Midtown area. I will be visiting January 21st through the 23rd and I need reccomendations for dining.

I will be staying at The Benjamin Hotel Friday and Saturday night (125 East 50th Street) and hanging around outside of Rockeffeller Center most of Friday evening. I need ideas on where to eat most of those days. For example:

Friday night I need to find a place to pick up something easy to eat for dinner while I wait in line, preferably around the hotel or NBC studios. Perhaps a nice sandwhich/ something that can last?

Saturday evening I would love to have a wonderful breakfast- something hearty and not too loud. I imagine we will be exhausted after a night in line.

Saturday night I would love to take my boyfriend out to dinner. Somewhere where the entrees cost somewhere between 15-30, creative cuisine and soothing atmosphere. Perhaps a cocktails before the show. We will also be a little tired, so I prefer if they take reservations.

Please note that although my boyfriend and myself are both incredibly adventurous with cuisine, I do not eat meat, fish, etc. I do eat eggs and milk products. Any restaurant that fits the bill and has one or two vegetarian items will do.

Sunday morning I assume we could try another breakfast spot, to fill us up before we head back to Philadelphia.

I appreciate whatever help you can give me. Whatever you reccomend I will be happy to give a full report upon return.
