My girlfriend and I are coming to NYC for our honeymoon on Nov 12. We're eloping so this weekend is basically our wedding so we'd like to make it as special as possible. We've been to NYC a few times so we've done some of the more presitgious restaurants in the city. This time we are on a bit of a budget (we just bought a house) and we'd like to have something special without breaking the bank.
We've been to JG, wd-50, fleur de sel, momofuko ko and some other highly rated retaurants (we loved those except for wd, but I digress; I just want to give an idea of what we normally look for). We're staying in manhattan and would like to go somewhere unique and truly outstanding without going to le Bernardin or Per Se. We are planning on returning to momofuko ko for a meal, we have yet to decide lunch or dinner (assuming we can get a reservation). We would like to find another great restaurant for a dinner on Saturday or Sunday night. I've tried to look at the michelin bib gourmand, but its a bit much to sift through and I would hope that there are some local recommendations for something that will be memorable.
I've been a bit verbose but I'd really appreciate some suggstions as to where we could go for a memorable meal for under $100 for food for the both of us (not including wine). It doesn't need to be a fine dining setting. But we can appreciate a talented chef with passion.
As a long time chow follower I'm hoping you chow-heads can help me.
Thanks in advance
