wedding cakes/VA/Pastries by Randolph

Looking for some feedback on bakeries or caterers in No. Va that provide wedding cakes. So far, I've tasted cakes at Heidelberg and Pastries by Randolph, as well as a caterer-based operation, Cakes by Michael. All have been good and reasonably priced (looking to spend $4.00 or under per slice). We're looking for a fairly traditional cake, probably vanilla or lemon with buttercream, because we will have another, probably chocolate, dessert. Would love to hear if anyone has had good/bad experiences with these or other bakeries. I know lots of people love Pastries by Randolph, and the cake was good, but the service both on the phone and in-person was abrupt and indifferent enough that it gave me pause. Thanks!
