Watermelon Van at Lake Merritt in Oakland?

We're in the height of summer and the annual quest for an excellent watermelon.

My reliable source is no more. San Francisco's Watermelon Man has passed on to his final reward, I understand.

Yesterday around 2:30pm as I was driving along Grand Avenue past Lake Merritt, I spotted a parked glossy black (?) van with watermelons spilling out the back and the side of the van said "red and yellow" among other things. I didn't catch if it mentioned seeded or seedless. However, the specimens on display were the large oblong shape, not round, and there may be seeded watermelons among them. The trucks was on the stretch between the entrance to Children's Fairyland and Perkins.

Anyone familiar with this vendor and its wares?
