Last year we were away for Bastille Day and had a great meal at a French restaurant. It was a real celebration, a wandering accordian player doing schmaltzy French love songs, and the chef shot off a miniature cannon in the courtyard and we all sang the Marseillaise (can't spell that), while waving the tricolour.
Now we are in Queens for Bastille day, and darned if I can come up with anything French to chow down on. Thought of Chez Noelle, but that doesn't move me.....what I want is a French Sripraphai, something more down to earth, not fancy and not expensive.
Any thoughts out there????
