vitello tonnato--downtown

I'm visiting NY for another week, and once or twice more I'll get the chance to spend a couple of hours away from my young baby and go out to a nice lunch. My summer fantasy ideal would be a place within a fifteen-minute walk (or $5 cab) of 14th Street and Fifth Avenue, where I could eat in a garden or at least at an outside table, with really great vitello tonnato. I had almost the whole thing today--went to Da Silvano--the tonnato was pretty good but the veal was pretty dry and chewy, even with the sauce. There are so many Italian places down here--help me sort them out! Thanks...
