I just came back to my home in Los Angeles with great memories of my week spent in NY, especially my dinner at LUPA. We had an early reservation for four this past Friday at 515 pm. The place had just opened when we arrived, but filled up fast.
We started with a course of Antipasti E Salumi.
First came a long wooden serving plate with five small plates with selection of house cured meats including Salumi, Coppa, Prosciutto di Parma and a soft tepid meat (ala head cheese) sprinkled with fennel pollen. Next came out a brined fish (trout) with walnuts and beets with pistachios.
We then proceeded to order the following as our main dishes:
*Branzino, a white fish, baked with lemon and herbs (2 orders)
*Mostaciolli with tripe
* A thicker spaghetti-like pasta with house cured meats
I think the favorite dish at the table was the white fish, a moist and succulent creature perfumed with the herbs. It was so good, that my seven year old son was talking about it on the plane ride home. I however, also enjoyed the tripe.

All of the sweets were excellent and a perfect ending to a great meal.
We had two glasses of italian reds, one from sardegna and one from sicily. Also had drinks for the kids and sparkling water. Total, with tip 210.00. Absolutely wonderful space and great service. One of the best meals I have had.
