Visiting from Boston and seeking feedback/suggestions on where to eat and drink

misspickypants | Apr 18, 201501:19 PM     38

Greetings Chowhounds of Philadelphia,

I'm tagging along with the husband while he's in town for a conference. After much research I've got Zahar, Vernick, Vedge, and High Street on Market on my list for dinners. I know from your boards that folks like the first 3 a lot, didn't see too much on the last one though, thoughts?

I'm planning to hit the RTM for lunch (on my own) and am looking for suggestions for other lunch spots (also on my own). And if you can suggest any specialty food shops or cool markets, that would be most welcome.

Would also appreciate feedback on best beer bars or local brewery tasting rooms, and tips on places that serve cask conditioned ale (that's for the Mr. Pickypants, the beer aficionado, I prefer a good rye manhattan).

And last but not least, best places for homemade ice cream.

Thanks!
