Visit to El Vez

Heard mixed reviews of El Vex but we went anyway with friends and I must put my vote in the "skip it" column.

First off it is impossibly noisy so forget a quiet conversation. Big bar scene.

The chips, guac and salsas are very good but most other dishes I tried were unmemorable. Turkey mole was oversalted but flavorful. Mahi mahi tacos were actually very good however. The remaining of the tacos on the tasting platter were fair only. Friends did not like their carne asada (not true carne asada)

Dessert was good - coffee pot de creme and the "el vez" which is a chocolate cake with banana and peanut butter topping were worth it and very rich.

Drinks are $8 a margarita. Total per couple was about $100 total.

My 2 cents - but it costs you nothing.
