My boyfriend and I are visting this weekend, 3 nights or more aptly, 3 dinners. We are thinking, Nyonya, Nha Hang Pho Viet Huong, Bayleaf, Klong and Churrascaria Plataforma - gives you a hint of our tastes. Was thinking Nobu, but have been advised by trusted fellow hound bit pretentious and not worth the $$. Would appreciate opinions on above, but what we really love doing is food shopping. Living in Bermuda, we have to shop for our southeast Asian/Indian from-scratch cooking ingredients abroad. Would really love suggestions on shopping locals for spices, cheeses, things like pink peppercorns, lime leaves, really A-1 fish sauce. Unfortunately (or fortunately) if we want to feed our asian cravings - we better be able to cook it ourselves. Cook book and funky kitchen supply suggestions are appreciated as well. I have a bit of an oriental dishware fetish! thanks for any input.
