I run across a lot of vintage cookbooks at estate sales, etc. This one is especially unusual and charming.
It is called "Stirring Stories" from the Franklin Street Presbyterian Church, published in 1951. Each recipe has a signature of the submitter along with really cute graphics fitting for that recipe.
The book also features handwritten ads from local businesses; Elmira Photo Service, Artistic Card Company, Hagerman Funeral Home, Chamberlain's Dairy, just to name a few.
It is too cute to not to pass on to someone who could truly appreciate it. If you have an historical connection to Elmira, let me know and perhaps I can get it to you.
