First of all, I know not many, if any, of you make it out to Antioch. I only go there when I have to. Recently, I not only had to go there but I had to eat there as well. We ended up at "that new place, Vinci."
It was bad, real bad.
First, they have two front doors. If you pick the right door there is a nice little lobby. If you walk through the wrong one you will stand in the dining room looking like an idiot waiting for someone to seat you. When they do they might give you the same look they gave us. The look that says, "Hey dummy. You walked through the wrong door." Consider it a little like Let's Make a Deal. But the fun ends there.
The space is big and the paint is ugly. Not ugly like it has been there for years and needs to be redone. Ugly like it is brand new and needs to be redone.
The service is bad. Lots of "umms", "I'm not sures" and a few "I'm sorry. I forgots."
Now the food! Yuk! It is standard Italian fare most of which I don't see on menus when I am in Italy. Just menus here. Menus you find at Olive Garden.
I ordered the veal saltimbucco. I love anything saltimbucco, usually. The veal was thick and hard, like an over-cooked pork chop. I like prosciutto on mine but sometimes you get ham. They used canadian bacon? They used mozzarella cheese? The worst was that they used spinach instead of sage. Umm, that's not saltimbucco.
Other people in the party got various forms of bad pasta. I didn't even try them.
