My husband and I had dinner at Vidalia last Saturday night. (We had the reservation before the recent review.) We had been there a few times before the $1M renovation and liked it but this time we were wowed! The place is gorgeous. Could never tell it was the same space. We sat in a raised area overlooking the lower part of the restaurant. We thought it was probably the best table in the house. The food was outstanding - from the gratis pumpkin soup, tasty bread selection to the appetizers and entrees. My husband had two dishes described in the Post review - yellowtail and rabbit. The yellowtail was an amazing combination of tastes. I had frogs legs - which I love - and never see on a menu. Different preparation -no garlic and butter but enjoyable. I had the shrimp and grits (I can never resist it.) and it was better than I remembered. The sommelier (sp?) helped us choose a wine to go with all four dishes and he was amazingly successful with his choice. Good pecan pie and nice little chocolates with the bill. A really enjoyable experience.
