Veyrat Launches "Mont Blanc and Gastronomy" Chef Group

Some diners visiting one of Veyrat's establishments or skiing in the region might choose to visit Hameau Albert 1er, a rsetaurant I have never sampled. The recent 100th anniversary celebrations included involved Paul Bocuse, Pierre Troisgros and Marc Veyrat. The occasion also marked the launch of the "Mont Blanc and Gastronomy", mult-country chef group, sponsored (in the non-financial sense) by chefs that include P Troisgros and P Bocuse.

Now why does Veyrat need to be part of this group? Isn't he already part of the Group of Eight? It's very strange. It's true that this group is more regional, and includes chefs of generally lower caliber, than the Group of Eight. But why?
