Venison Tartar and other amazing dishes at Bistro LQ

Bistro LQ deserves more love and patronage from Chowhounders.

I went there for the first time for a 10-course tasting menu with wine pairing and was very pleased with the following outstandin dishes:

Venison Tartar w/ quail egg & pomme frites -- BEST venison I've ever had and I'm not even a game person. I was very happy that it wasn't too gamey at all. The melt-in-your-mouth texture and umami flavoring had me yearning for more. The fries was perfectly light and crispy with just the right amount of flavor.

Uni Tapioca Pudding -- I see this is many people's favorite and it really IS good.

Veal Sweetbread w/ potato coulis -- I'm often disappointed with sweetbread because it's easily over- or undercooked but this is the most perfect preparation ever. I love the perfect creamy texture and flavor!

Foie Gras Tostada -- This was the first time I had a foie gras with a little Mexican twist and I really enjoyed it. The sides were not overly sweet and it was perfect with the sauterne wine served as pairing which added just the right amount of sweetness.

Black Bass w/ Blood Sausage & Duck Wings -- OMG, I just love the blood sausage!!! I wouldn't mind having this blood sausage by itself as a main dish.

Of course, every cheese lover would go crazy over LQ's cheese selections but I'm not a cheese person so I can't comment on that. My brother were served 4 different cheeses and he thought they were all amazing.

I thought the 10-course chef tasting menu at $90 was a steal considering the ambiance, service and the quality of food. I would definitely go back to taste some of the other interesting dishes on their new 2011 menu. http://www.bistrolq.com/Dinner
