Advice sought for a family of four, spending two nights pre-cruise in Venice; possibly staying in the Dorsoduro area. Teenage daughters are averse to fish and all things of the sea.
If given their way, dining options would vary from pizza places and the Hard Rock Café.
Pater is celebrating his 50th birthday on one of the nights and would like to raise the bar a little in the culinary stakes without an outbreak of war/dissent. Travelling in the month of August does not improve one's restaurant options either.
From my limited dining experiences in Venice, only a few places suggest themselves but hopefully contributors can be of help with some more ideas.
La Bitta is pretty much non-fish if I recall correctly.
La Zucca offers neither fish nor meat; correct?
Il Refolo is strong on the pizza options but at least provides a nice location for an evening meal.
