Vancouver visit - ISO pastries and additional info

CA hounds finally getting back to one of our favorite cities the first week in July.

I would score major points with Lady PB by locating a unique/outstanding bakery in the West End. Staying near Alberni & Bidwell, but willing to walk wherever.

We have a friend flying in for the weekend and are planning Fri. dinner at Guu on Robson, and Sat. at West. I want to return to Bin 941, especially since my wife hasn't had the experience, but would like to hear of any similar type tapas/bistro/wine bar spots.

I've only had oysters at Joe Fortes' in the past shucked by Oyster Bob, but see recs for Rodney's and Blue Water Grille on the board. Does one have a better selection and or prices, and is the ambiance similar?

Found a post on Aurora Bistro that sounded interesting for breakfast, is it lunch worthy as well? Also seem to recall it being in a revitalized area of unique qualities? Are there additional dining places nearby worth checking out?

Previously, we've only had dim sum in Chinatown, so looking to branch out into Richmond. We probably won't be able to do so until mid-week, any outstanding spots that have cart service then, or will we need to order off the menu?

Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions.
