Vancouver: fun, festive, family-friendly?

Geezer | Dec 25, 2004 06:27 PM

I'll be visiting Vancouver next week with my wife and 12-year-old daughter and would appreciate recommendations for a place to celebrate my 50th birthday.

My tastes are eclectic and adventurous. I have a fondness for seafood and spice, but am quite flexible. I'm a craft beer fanatic but will drink wine (or good sake) in a pinch.

My wife likes Asian, Indian and Italian, but isn't too adventurous (no ostrich, please). My kid never met a noodle she didn't like, but doesn't eat seafood.

I'm looking for a relaxed, mid-priced place with something for everyone. Quality and ambiance is more important than cuisine type. Pretentious or uppity waitstaff need not apply. We're staying in a downtown hotel.

Any suggestions?

Any comments on Romano's Macaroni Grill?

Cheers all.
