Looking for upscale desserts/lounge in Vancouver

Hi. I'm getting married this summer, and we want to host a dessert/coffee/drinks the night before the wedding for family, close friends, and people coming from out of town. (Essentially a "rehearsal dessert.") We're having some trouble figuring out where to hold it.

There will be 25-35 people. We'd like it to be in a place that's not too loud, where people can talk and relax. The atmosphere should be nice and comfortable, with good desserts. And it should be downtown, as most people will be staying downtown without a car. One place we're considering is the front section of Diva, where the bar is.

I haven't been to Bacchus, but I've peeked in from the Wedgewood lobby, and it looks gorgeous inside. Does anyone know if that would be appropriate? Do they have a section of the restaurant that we could occupy?

I would greatly appreciate advice and recommendations, as I am a transplanted New Yorker, and don't know Vancouver really well yet! Thanks in advance!
