Upcoming Beard on Books events

Saw these on the Beard on Books site and thought I'd highlight as there are some especially interesting writers coming up.

You don't have to be a member to go to the Beard on Books readings, but you do have to rsvp. (Number is below). All of them are from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesdays. The authors read, discuss their books, and afterward you can have your own copy signed or purchase one on site. Sometimes, they have food offered for a light lunch. Theorecticaly it's free, but they suggest a $20 donation.

* January 23rd - Kathleen Flinn, "The Sharper Your Knife, the Less You Cry" (food memoir about Le Cordon Bleu in Paris; light fare is provided)

* February 13th - Phoebe Damrosch, "Service Included: Four Star Secrets of an Eavesdropping Waiter" (food memoir about working at Thomas Keller's Per Se)

* February 27 - Judith Jones, "The Tenth Muse: My Life in Food" (food memoir by Julia Child's editor)

* March 12 - Jim Peterson, "Cooking" (excellent cookbook author, his latest is a wonderful general cookbook)

* April 9 - Mary Lou and Robert J. Heiss , "The Story of Tea: A Cultural and Drinking Guide"
