I would appreciate any comments that others have on the Union Portland restaurant in the Press Hotel. I just booked dinner there for next week based on what appeared to be a strong menu and good reviews on OpenTable & Yelp. Could not find anything on CH.

For context: We come to Portland for a few days almost every summer. We are booked at Back Bay Grill for our other dinner this year -- a return visit that we are looking forward to. We are not much for waiting long intervals for tables (nor eating at 5:00 or 9:30 pm) so that rules out a many of the newer places, which take no reservations (as well as some of the popular old standbys, which have no available bookings, like Street & Co.) And, we are not big fans of "small plate" format restaurants. While Union appears to have lots of "small plates," it appears to have a sufficient number of standard entrée portion selections that it fits within our criteria.

Thanks in advance hounds.
