Turnovers at Angie's Bakery [Richmond]

wolfe | May 8, 201206:28 PM

A small display case in the big room that was Backdoor and then Pit Boss at McBryde and San Pablo is Angie's Guatemalan and Savadorean bakery which I am assured is pretty authentic. The prices are unbelievably low. A turnover with pineapple filling was sweet, crispy with a good bit of fruit for 3 for $1. A 15'' crispy stick sort of like a diet palmier was also 3/$1. Items clearly marked as to what they are but not readable by this monolinguist . Worth a stop if you're in the neighborhood. Salvadoean tamales $2 on Saturday.
