I'd been hearing about this place for a bit and we went today for lunch. SUPER lobster roll. On a split top bun With mayo not butter (so New England but not Connecticut!). The slaw had some sesame oil in the non-mayo dressing which we really liked. A woman at an adjacent table thought the kale salad was super. We want to work our way the menu. The fish and chips, made from haddock, looked great, as did their CA style lobster roll (a dollar more at $18) with avocado and Sriracha. AND the lobster grilled cheese sandwich looked swoon worthy :)
We were chatting with one of the owners (they're a husband and wife team) and they opened last summer IIRC and he said they're business has increased every single week since then. That tells ya something. I asked where he got the split top buns and he orders them from back East. Through Sysco and another supplier, all 3000 options didn't include the split tops.
You order at the counter and can also buy a variety of fresh fish there. The cod today was $12/#. There's some counter seating along the wall and outside there were several picnic tables and some bistro tables and chairs in the back. If there's ANY upside to our dreadfully dry winter, it's that we could sit outside in the sun and enjoy our lunch.
They have beer and wine available. You can see from one of the pictures that their wine glasses are made from split wine bottles. Not surprisingly, their very enviro-friendly. Their chef is using the Monterey Bay Aquarium watchlist when sourcing.
I can't say enough good about this place. I hope everyone checks it out. Oh, btw, it's on the other side of the railroad tracks on River Street just a short distance off Old Brockway.
