Thanks, chowies, for this rec! Three of us had dinner here tonight – lots of interesting flavors, spices, and fresh tastes. Started off on the right foot with the basket of jalapeño-studded cornbread that was terrific with the spicy mango preserves. Loved the assorted appetizer platter with salt cod/potato croquette, corn and black bean cake with salsa and sour cream, vegetable skewer with peanut-coconut sauce, and tangy red cabbage slaw. Likewise the basket of red fries and special of salmon, shrimp and white fish ceviche served with some shredded greens, avocado slices and spicy tostada crisps. Weaker but still likeable was the eggplant, mushroom and pea curry over yellow rice topped with spicy grilled shrimp and accompanied with raita – the eggplant was a bit undercooked and raw tasting, but perhaps better that than a mushy gray mess.

We washed it all down with a pitcher of bul, $9, a refreshing concoction of beer and lime juice. Very good housemade key lime pie ended the night on a sweet note.

The advice that portions are generous and not to over order was spot on. One appetizer, fries, one salad, one entrée and one dessert was plenty for three hungry adults. Cost per person was $20 inclusive.
