I am planning our trip in June and after careful studying of this site and Elizabeth Minchelli and Ziggy, I have come up with this itinerary. Please let me know if I'm planning this correctly and should consider any changes:
Florence (Sunday - Wed)
Sunday: arrive early, lunch at Ino
Dinner at Sostanza (do I need to call from US for reservations?)
Monday: lunch at Mercato Centrale at Nerbone
Dinner: Da Ruggero (need reservations?)
Tuesday: lunch at Teatro del Sale
Dinner: La Pentola
Wednesday: Rent car and leave Florence
Waiting to hear if I have reservations at Hosteria Giusti - if so, go to Modena for lunch followed by stop at Villa San Donnino for aceto balsamico. If not, go to Di Scandiano for lunch at the Osteria and then aceto balsamica at Di Scandiano
Dinner at All'Osteria Bottega (how early do I need to make reservations?)
Dinner: Da Gianni
Saturday: leave Bologna for Antica Corte Pallavicina, lunch?..arrive early to take bike ride along Po river, staying there for the night
Dinner: reservations already made
Sunday: Parmesan tour?
Dinner: Trattoria La Buca (reservations made, staying there for the night)
Monday go to Parma, find lunch?
Dinner: Cocchi (need reservations?)
Dinner: Trattoria del Tribunale
Wednesday go to Lucca (have apt with kitchen), walk the wall
Dinner: Il Mecenate
Thursday: Antica Drogheria for lunch
Dinner: Pizzeria da Felice
Dinner: any recommendations? I'm having some trouble finding places for dinner in or around Lucca
Saturday-Wed: Certaldo, staying in Il Paluffo, have kitchen
for one dinner will eat at Osteria del Vicario...any other recommendations for eating in nearby towns?
Wed in Florence, return car
Dinner: Osteria Antica Mescita ?
