Thanks for the menu suggestions. I followed poster's advice and had the fondue. It was so luxurious. I had the fondue at Anthem the week before and it was terrible. The Grotto fondue was rich and the beef and mushrooms were a wonderful hearty accompaniment. Perfect for sharing.
We then shared the baby spinach, goat cheese, and spiced walnut salad. I didnt want the nuts so our server offered to have it split. Very nice. The salad was pretty terrific. Nice light raspberry vinaigrette.
My main course was the highly recommended grilled proscuitto wrapped tenderloin. I asked for it medium rare and it was perfect. The risotto was a little too rich for me but my partner in crime would have licked the plate if we were at home. The asparagus was darn near perfect tenderness too. My buddy had the sole. She thought it was good but wasnt blown away. I cant recall the preparation and its not on their web site menu. I was actually too in love with my tenderloin to have a bite but it did look lovely.
For dessert we had the bread pudding. Excellent choice. Very comforting and the portion wasnt huge so the temptation to over indulge was avoided.
All in all the experience was pretty excellent. Our server was attentive, accommodating, and chatted us up well when he questions. I always feel that Grotto is a very good value. I cant wait to hear what more folks think of it.
