Trip Advice- Mavro, Wong, Roy's...too much of the same?

Porthos | Mar 8, 2010 08:31 AM

Hi. I'm planning a short trip to Oahu (first time) for Memorial Day weekend. So far I have Mavro Friday night, Alan Wong (at the counter) Saturday night, and Roy's Waikiki on Sunday night.

I am very interested in trying Mavro and Alan Wong. I'm just wondering if adding Roy's is too much of the same and if I'm bound to be let down after going to Mavro and Wong.

Are there any new restaurants with creative chefs doing great things right now in Oahu? Maybe a change of pace like fine japanese? I noticed that L'Uraku is now closed.

Appreciate any suggestions or if you think I should just stick to my itinerary, that would be good to know also.

Thanks.
