Trio Diner - Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn

I've tried giving the Trio Diner in Windsor Terrace (PPW) a few chances, but they've never really been able to get their act together since they've opened. The final straw was the 4th of July. Now, I understand that it was probably a busy restaurant day, but the service there was inexcusable.

We sat down at 11:15am or so, and didn't get served will close to 12:20. Two omelette orders, neither one with any special requests. It took us 20 minutes and my nearly tackling our waiter to get our coffee and tea. We got no explanations, no apologies, not even a "sorry for the delay". If they'd maybe said "Our chef dropped dead in the kitchen" or "the cooktop caught fire", maybe I could understand it. Plus, when we got the food, it wasn't even all that hot! Definitely a case of our hunger passing before we got fed. The toast came with no butter or jam, and every single person on the waitstaff seemed to make it their mission to avoid anyone who looked like they might need help.

In summary: RUN AWAY. Try somewhere else with a better value for your money. Try somewhere else where the waitstaff are actually willing to wait on you. Try somewhere else where a basic breakfast item doesn't take 45 minutes between ordering and serving.

Try somewhere else, period.
