i tre merli

Friday night I agreed to meet my S.O. at Dos Caminos at Houston and W. Broadway. When I arrived, it was crowded. Because I had some large plans with me and she was not there yet, I did not want to venture into the crowd, so i walked south seeking another option, and walked into i tre merli.

It was nearly empty. We sat at the bar and had a few glasses of wine, dinner, after dinner drinks and dessert. Everything was good. I had stinco d'agnello, and she had a beef steak dish with rosemary. For dessert we had a a creme brulee like dish and vanilla ice cream with espresso.

I wouldn't go that far out of my way to eat there, but when in the area I will eat there again.

I know at one time it was a fashionable restarurant, but it now seems out of fashion.
