I thought this restaurant was discussed on this board before but I couldn't find it. I had wanted to compare my experience with the prior post(s). I just had a wonderful, wonderful serving of paella here today for lunch. The rice was cooked perfectly tender and yet not gooey or soupy or overgravied or had tomato sauce (ugh). I LOVEd the fraqrant rice infused with saffron with a sprinkling of sausages and peas. Not too much sausage so as to not take away from the seafood or the rice. I thought the clams and the mussels could have been more seasoned but the small amount of scallops was tasty. I just couldn't get enough of the rice! Anyway, my lunch companions and I also shared a good tuna capacio which was served with three very light and delicate pastry crisps and was drizzled in a nut oil of somekind. The others also ordered a greek salad, a grilled flank steak sandwich on a flat bread and we all shared a berry tiramisu. The greek salad was ok...nothing spetacular. I was told the sandwich was very good..it was served with arugula, tomato and a mayonaise based spread and came with a wild green salad. I was very disappointed with the berry tiramisu. I expected the berries to be on top, I don't know why I did, but they were liquidfied in a cream/jello like filling on lady fingers. I didn't care for this at all. I almost always order paella if it is offered and I guess I use the rice as a standard to evaluate the dish. I have to say that this was one of the best paella rice I've had.
Trapez is billed as serving "European" cuisine..I am not sure what this means but the menu included tapas and they serve a number of pasta dishes. The service was excellent. Oh, they also serve a warm foccacia-like bread with an garlic/olive dipping sauce. A bit too salty for me but I can see that it could be wonderful with wine.
