I am transferring an old pine table into my kitchen when I will now prepare my meals on. What is you advice on how to do it?
I was planning on sanding it down to the wood, but what after? Are there some FDA approved stains or veneers I can put on it to keep it safe, or should I just use food grade wood oil? Although I will use a cutting board most of the time, I will use the bare surface for baking, pasta and (hopefully) more.
As you can surmise, I know nothing about wood and carpentry, so any advice will be gladly accepted.
