Traditional Sushi vs. newfangled inside-out 21st century crazy rolls-Long Island

Are there any reliably consistant Sushi bars in Nassau or Suffolk county that serve good traditional style sushi/sashimi?
I actually enjoy some of the wilder "crazy rolls" that have surfaced in recent years, but lately have been longing for the more traditional stuff...
Last night for instance, we had garlic oysters, which turned out to be tempura'd oysters with garlic sauce, served in the shell. They were OK, but would have been more appropriate in an Italian venue. Also on the menu-Tiramisu and other Italian-style desserts! Weird.
Any thoughts?
