I recently went to Old Town Bakery for brunch. I go occasionally for the variety and the quality, and have always enjoyed the breakfasts there. When I went last weekend, the menu was much smaller and the eggs benedict was downright awful- it looked like 2 Thomas' English Muffins (c'mon, it's a BAKERY, right?) with two quarter-sized ham pieces and two ravaged poached eggs. Then the sauce came on the side and was a cold, THICK mess. The really icky part was that the eggs were runny but cold.
What happened? Did they get new management?
Also looking for the recipe for the stuffed mushrooms at La Pergola in Sherman Oaks- any similar recipe will do of course.....That place is consistently great and fresh!
