So Dave has Rhode Island grown Roma's on sale for $.99 a pound, which got me thinking about making sauce and canning. A little digging on the internet suggests that in some other regions tomatoes are available in bulk (20-40lbs) for substantially less (25-50 cents a pound). However, those same searches did not turn up any local options. Best I've found is pick your own for the same price Dave's is offering.
Anyone have suggestions for buying in quantity at a good price in the Ocean State. I know I could drive to Boston and hit haymarket but would rather stay local.
