There's restaurant in NYC that absolutely refuses to give you cheese for certain dishes. A friend told me a waitress was almost fired for giving her cheese for her bruschetta. Has anyone else been told "no" about the way you wanted something cooked or served? Where? What did you do? What do you think of these restrictions? I understand that it's not authentic to put cheese on my pasta con vongole, but I like it! I'd love to hear other stories about these experiences.
